Deans' Bio: Amy Essex
Amy Essex has been married to Luke Essex for 20+ years and they have two boys, Colden and Blake. They are members of Ferris Church of Christ. Amy is the Business Manager at Rock Lake Christian Assembly and has been the co-dean of the backpack trip for six years. This year, she is excited to dean Running Camp and share her love of running with others. She ran on the Alma High School track and cross country teams for four years. Amy was a state qualifier four years in track and three years in cross country. Today, she still enjoys running and continues to compete in local 5ks. In addition, Amy has run two marathons. What she loves about running is that everyone has a chance to compete no matter the ability level, it challenges us to improve ourselves.
Running Camp
July 28th - August 2nd
Rock Lake offers a Running camp for students in 5th-8th grade. Running is aerobic if you're keeping your pace and energy expenditure fairly consistent. If you are into distance running and endurance training. This camp is a perfect opportunity to learn how to properly build your skills so you will be ready to run the race in a space where you can also build your faith and friendships that will last a lifetime!
