J of ApologetiX

On Saturday, May 25th at 7 pm, ApologetiX will be in concert in the camp tabernacle.  The camp staff and I are excited to be able to bring this exciting and fun Christian band to the lake.  I am also excited to announce that on Tuesday, May 21st, Scott McCausey of  “Christian Devotions Speak Up” will be doing a live interview with J. Jackson the lead singer of ApologetiX.  Scott’s kids all attended Rock Lake as campers and he is pleased and excited to offer this service for you to hear from J before Saturday’s concert.

We are pleased to offer you, for the first time ever, the Christian Parody Band, ApologetiX.  This band specializes in Biblical parodies from rock hits of yesterday and today, including everything from Elvis to Eminem.  In the bands words, “its kind of like Weird Al Yankovic meets Billy Graham”. This concert will be a “high energy” and loud night of fun and entertainment.  ApologetiX have also been known to add a country western parody from time to time.  So this event is for music lovers of all the decades of rock and roll and the country western fan too.

The event will take place on Saturday, May 25th at 7PM in the camp tabernacle.  The cost is $10 per person in advance and $15 at the door.  You can also get a group rate of $8 per person for all groups of 10 or more. Hey, guess what?  The camp season is getting close.  Only a couple of months to the start of another summer camp season.  Registrations are coming in which means we will have campers here this summer that will need to eat occasionally. And with that need to feed hungry campers, is a very large food bill that the camp will have to pay.  You can help cut those costs considerably by purchasing some #10 cans of food items that Mary and her kitchen staff will need to get through the summer.

Mary has put together her #10 Can Drive Most Wanted Items and the are listed below.  If you can purchase some of these, please do.  Bring them to the camp by the end of May so she will know what you have provided that she will not have to order.  This will help her and the finances for this summer.
